Short answer, we made it up, we checked on google that it didn't mean anything rude, and ran with it. The longer story is that it is a combination of SENT & ZEN. For those in the climbing know, to complete a climb is to have sent the climb, simple. The reference to Zen is from our good friend at Zen Lizard, the designer of XChalk. For many, the zen attitude is something that has deep roots in Climbing, so it's an appropriate reference. 

If you do manage to look it up, there is a translation from Hungarian which means saintly. While we do not profess to be saints, or for our products to have holy powers, it is a translation we can happily sit with.

Yes. Magnesium carbonate, the major ingredient in XChalk is not classed as a toxic substance and is not a known carcinogen. Magnesium carbonate can be a mild skin and respiratory irritant, but getting some fresh air will clear you up in no time. 

In the 10+ years xchalk has been on the market there have been no serious irritations or side effects on adults or children. There has been only ONE, 1, UNO reported case where a customer had a mild skin irritant reaction to the product, but was gone within days after use was stopped. As with any product, if irritation occurs stop use immediately! Simply rinse the area thoroughly with water.
